Forget Evian or Vitaminwater. The latest beverage trend: ‘Holy Water.’

You need only go back to the first chapter of Genesis to see how elemental water is to the observance of faith: “And the Spirit of God,” the Bible says, “moved upon the face of the waters.” In the Torah, water is used to ordain priests and to purify the sons of Aaron before they enter the temple. In the New Testament, John baptizes Jesus with water from the Jordan River. Observant Muslims wash hands and feet before they pray, orthodox Jewish women take ritual baths once a month—and every Christian denomination still uses water as part of its sacred rites. Mormons, when they take the weekly sacrament, drink water instead of wine.

So it’s not surprising that a few savvy marketers would seize on this universal symbol of purity for financial gain. Inspired, perhaps, by vitamin and energy waters, a number of new companies have begun making more explicit claims: their water doesn’t just promote good health, it actually makes you good. Holy Drinking Water, produced by a California-based company called Wayne Enterprises, is blessed in the warehouse by an Anglican or Roman Catholic priest (after a thorough background check). Like a crucifix or a rosary, a bottle of Holy Drinking Water is a daily reminder to be kind to others, says Brian Germann, Wayne’s CEO. Another company makes Liquid OM, superpurified bottled water containing vibrations that promote a positive outlook. Invented by Kenny Mazursky, a sound therapist in Chicago, the water purportedly possesses an energy field that Mazursky makes by striking a giant gong and Tibetan bowls in its vicinity. He says the good energy can be felt not just after you drink the water but before, when you’re holding the bottle.

The most recent entry in this niche is Spiritual Water. It’s purified municipal water, sold with 10 different Christian labels. The Virgin Mary bottle, for example, has the Hail Mary prayer printed on the back in English and Spanish. Spiritual Water helps people to “stay focused, believe in yourself and believe in God,” says Elicko Taieb, the Florida-based company’s founder who was formerly in the pest-control business. All three companies give a portion of their profits to charity.

This small band of feel-good entrepreneurs may face objections from a surprising quarter. Some religious believers, also convinced of the elemental importance of water, are campaigning against its ubiquitous sale and packaging on the grounds that the practice is neither ethical nor good for the environment. “Water is life,” says Sister Mary Zirbes, a nun in the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, Minn. “It really should not be a commodity to be bought.” The Franciscan Sisters, together with a community of Benedictine nuns nearby, have launched a letter-writing campaign against the largest producers of bottled water and they’ve designed coasters to encourage people to drink glasses, not bottles, of water from the tap. The Vineyard church in Boise, Idaho, sells slim reusable plastic bottles in its bookstore, and it has placed water stations throughout the church. “In a world where a billion people have no reliable source of drinking water, where 3,000 children die every day of waterborne diseases, let’s be clear: bottled water is not a sin, but it sure is a choice,” says Richard Cizik of the National Association of Evangelicals. “Spending $15 billion a year on bottled water is a testimony to our conspicuous consumption, our culture of indulgence.” Taieb calmly refutes the implication that his Spiritual Water is bad for the planet. People put fewer of his bottles in the trash, he says, because they don’t want to discard images of Jesus or Mary. Instead, they refill them with other beverages. Obviously, even do-gooders can disagree. Some believe that water is life, while others believe that water is their livelihood.

TATTOO. . . YE WORSHIP YE KNOW NOT WHAT
TATTOO. . . THE CUP OF DEVILS

“Ye worship ye know not what. . .” Jesus Christ, John 4:22

Throughout history the tattoo bears the mark of paganism, demonism, Baal worship, shamanism, mysticism, heathenism, cannibalism and just about every other pagan belief known. The tattoo has NEVER been associated with Bible Believing Christians. And whenever and wherever, in history Christianity appears –– tattoos disappear. The only exception — 20th century, lukewarm, carnal, disobedient, Laodicean Christians.

The birth of the tattoo has always born the fruits of pagan religion and mysticism. Without exception, research after research, study after study, book after book, the roots of the tattoo never wavers. The following documentation is just a small (very small) drop of the ocean of research documenting the pagan and demonic source of the tattoo.

Please remember. . . The following documentation is from pro-tattoo books simply documenting the obvious spiritual and religious link to the tattoo. These are not Christian writers trying to paint a negative portrait of the tattoo. No matter how much the carnal, rebellious, Christian desires to justify their perverse reasoning for “marking” themselves with the forbidden demonic tattoo, the facts are loud and clear, backed by tons of research and documentation by the leading pro-tattoo authorities on the planet –– the foundation, origin, meaning and purposes of the tattoo is pagan demonism, shamanism, Baal worship, and occult mysticism.

A tattooist in many cultures is also a shaman, magick-man, priest or priestess. According to the dictionary a shaman is a “intermediary between the natural and supernatural worlds, using magic to cure illness, foretell the future, control spiritual forces, etc.”

“Tattooing is often a magical rite in the more traditional cultures, and the tattooist is respected as a priest or shaman.” (Michelle Delio, Tattoo: The Exotic Art of Skin Decoration, p. 73)

“In Fiji, Fromosa, New Zealand and in certain of the North American Indian tribes, tattooing was regard as a religious ceremony, and performed by priests or priestesses.” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 64)

“The actual tattooing process, which involved complex ritual and taboos, could only be done by priests and was associated with beliefs which were secrets known only to members of the priestly caste. . . Hambly concluded that historically tattooing had originated in connection with ancient rites of scarification and bloodletting which were associated with religious practices intended to put the human soul in harmony with supernatural forces and ensure continuity between this life and the next.” (Gilbert, Steve, Tattoo History: A Source Book, p. 158)

The tattooist, shaman or the occult priest many times uses the tattoo as a point of contact, or inlets into the spiritual world. The tattoo is much more than just a body decoration. It’s more than just a layer of ink cut into the skin. In fact, the tattoo in every culture, in every country, up until the 20th century, was a vehicle for pagan spiritual and religious invocations. Even today, in many countries (including the United States), the tattoo is believed to be a bridge into the supernatural world.

Famous witch and author Laurie Cabot writes of the tattoo: “The origins of tattooing came from ancient magical practices. . . “ (Laurie Cabot, Power of the Witch, cited in Masonic and Occult Symbols Illustrated by Dr. Cathy Burns, p. 301)

“According to Amy Krakow in her chronicle The Total Tattoo Book, “tattooing has had well-defined roles: marking a rite of passage at a stage of life, calling the spirits, proudly, defiantly or sneaky showing who you are via body art.”

“Many native tribes practiced therapeutic tattooing. The Ojibwa, for instance, tattooed the temples, forehead, and cheeks of those suffering from headaches and toothaches that were believed to be caused by malevolent spirits. Songs and dances that were supposed to exorcise the demons accompanied the tattooing ceremony.” (Gilbert, Steve, Tattoo History: A Source Book, p. 90)

“Tattooing is about personalizing the body, making it a true home and fit temple for the spirit that dwells inside it. . . Tattooing therefore, is a way of keeping the spiritual and material needs of my body in balance.” (Michelle Delio, Tattoo: The Exotic Art of Skin Decoration, p.

Among today’s latest tattoo craze is “tribal tattoos”, which are pure paganism. Tribal tattoos are designs that bear serious symbolic mystical and occult meanings. Tribal tattoos, especially, are possible channels into spiritual and demonic possession.

“When the designs are chosen with care, tattoos have a power and magic all their own. They decorate the body but they also enhance the soul.” (Michelle Delio, Tattoo: The Exotic Art of Skin Decoration, p. 13)

“The reasons why puncturing the skin should be regarded with some degree of awe are not far to seek, for in the first place, there is the drawing of blood, which to the savage world over is full of significance as a rejuvenating and immortalizing factor. There is in addition to the opening of numerous inlets for evil to enter. . .” (Hambly Wilfrid D. 1925. The History of Tattooing and its Significance, p. 233, cited in Gilbert, Steve, Tattoo History: A Source Book, p. 162)

Rolling Stone magazine describes famous tattoo artist Paul Booth during his tattoo as, “. . . allowing his clients’ demons to help guide the needle.” (Rolling Stone magazine, March 28, 2002, p. 40)

“Burmese tattooing has been associated with religion for thousands of years. Tattooing among indigenous North American groups including the Arapaho, Mohave, Cree, and Inuit (Eskimo) is rooted in the spiritual realm as well.” (Laura Reybold, Everything you need to know about the dangers of tattooing and body piercing, p. 15)

“Skulls imprinted on skin abound, and depictions of the Grim Reaper are commonly seen. . . These images, indelibly marked on the skin, reflect uncertainty about the future, and sublimate the pervasive fear of the unknown. Possibly, at the same time, to wear a death’s figure on one’’s body may be an invocation of whatever undefinable forces of nature and the cosmos that exist, in an attempt to protect the wearer from such a fate.” (Henry Ferguson and Lynn Procter, The Art of the Tattoo, p. 76)

Ronald Scutt, in his exhaustive book, Art, Sex and Symbol covers a great deal about the history and culture of tattoos. Scutt documents that most of the time tattoos are connected to spiritual, religious and mystical purposes. The following documentation is from Scutt’’s book:

“In fact tattooing is much more likely, in view of its subsequent development, to have had a mystical significance, or to have been used as a status symbol, the red ochre carrying an association with blood and life.” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 22)

[Tattooing] “In association with sun-worship, megalithic building, ear-piercing, serpent worship, . . .” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 22)

“These marks [tatoos] are believed to be associated with the worship of the sun-goddess Neith” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 24)

“Be that as it may, primitive tribes were certainly convinced that the spirit, having escaped from the body at death, retained a replica of its earthly tenement. They therefore used tattoo marks as a means of identification in the next world and a passport to future happiness.” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 63)

“The Mohave Indians in the Lower Colorado instituted chin tattooing for both sexes because it was believed that a kind of Judge looks over each one who comes to Sil’aid (Land of the Dead) and if a man don’t have marks on his face, He sends him down to where the desert rats are.” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 63)

“Among other Indian tribes there was a conviction that on the journey heavenwards to the ‘‘Many Lodges’’ they would be stopped by an old woman and examined for the presence of tattoo marks on the forehead, chin or wrists. I absent, the luckless warrior would be pushed off a dizzy height to fall back to earth with no hope of ever gaining readmittance to the spirit world.” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 63)

“Hindus in Begal believed that without tattoos parents would not be able to recognize their children in the next world.” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 63)

“Then there is the ghastly fate of the untattooed Frijan women: “struck down by the souls of their own sex and without further ado served up as food for the gods.” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 64)

“Yet the worship of the sun-god Baal had involved the marking of the hands [tattoos] with the divine token in a mystic attempt to acquire strength.” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 64)

According to survey and statistics, Scutt lists the reasons why people get a tattoo and the number two reason –– “to secure a place in heaven”.

Reasons for getting a tattoo:

2. To secure a place in heaven.
5. To propitiate malignant spirits at time of death.
6. To acquire special characteristics through totemism and ancestor worship.
9. To make the body sexually interesting.”

(Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 13)

Dr. Hambly, probably the greatest tattooist historian and researcher that ever lived, writes over and over, that tattoos are based on pagan spiritual and religious rituals. Any serious and honest study of the origin and foundation of the tattoo will clearly expose a demonic and supernatural intent of tattoos.

Tattoo enthusiast and historian, Steve Gilbert, in his popular, Tattoo History: A Source Book, cites some of the historical facts Hambly found in his extensive research.

[Hambly] “retailed a wealth of examples which he had culled from field work by anthropologists in many parts of the world. Tattooing was supposed to: prevent pain; protect against gunshot wounds; cure illness; confer superhuman strength; preserve youth; enhance the supernatural powers of a shaman; ensure the survival of the soul after death; identify the soul in the hereafter; attract good luck; protect against witchcraft; ensure the protection of a deity; confer occult powers; prevent drowning; exorcise demons; ensure the protection of a totemic animal or spiritual guardian; record a pilgrimage to a holy place, etc. . .

Hambly reported that previous investigators had often been misled because obtaining information as to the religious and magical uses of tattooing was fraught with difficulties. In the myths of many cultures tattooing was of divine origin. The actual tattooing process, which involved complex ritual and taboos, could only be done by priests and was associated with beliefs which were secrets known only to members of the priestly caste. Anthropologists were often misled because their informants either did not know or would not reveal the secret significance of the rituals and taboos. 158)

THE TATTOO’S GREATEST ENEMY. . . THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

In the pages of history, whenever and wherever “tattooing” pagan tribes were converted to Christianity, without exception, one of their first pagan practices to “pass away” [ 2 Corinthians 5:17] –– was the tattoo. Why? Because, unlike today’s disobedient carnal “tattooed” Christians (or so-called?), the converted pagan KNEW the tattoo was against the Word of God. The Holy Spirit quickly “told” the converted pagan –– no tattoo.

“Just as occurred in other cultures with tattoo traditions, when these pagan tribes were ‘‘converted’’ to the Christian religion, their spiritual and cultural rites (which included tattooing, piercing and scarification) were outlawed. . .” (Jean-Chris Miller, The Body Art Book : A Complete, Illustrated Guide to Tattoos, Piercings, and Other Body Modifications, p.9)

Amazing. . . When the Lord Jesus Christ enters in –– the tattoo goes out. “Whenever missionaries encountered tattooing they eradicated it.” (Gilbert, Steve, Tattoo History: A Source Book, p. 101)

“While these and other body modifications continued to be practiced underground as a way for non-Christian people to identify each other, God forbid you got caught and your mark was revealed.” (Jean-Chris Miller, The Body Art Book : A Complete, Illustrated Guide to Tattoos, Piercings, and Other Body Modifications, p.11)

I have many friends before they were saved received a tattoo. And without exception, everyone of them is ashamed, and as much as possible they cover it. But before they got saved –– like the pagan tribes –– they proudly displayed their tattoo. And let me add –– most of the time, this is before they’ve read Leviticus 19:28, or before anyone even told them a tattoo is wrong. After receiving the Lord Jesus Christ, with the help of the indwelling Holy Spirit, they KNEW the tattoo was displeasing to their God. What about you?

A booming testimony to the author of the tattoo is recorded by Steve Gilbert:

“When Cortez and his conquistadors arrived on the coast of Mexico in 1519, they were horrified to discover that natives not only worshipped devils in the form of status and idols, but also had somehow managed to imprint indelible images of these idols on their skin. The Spaniards, who had never heard of tattooing, recognized it at once as the work of Satan.” (Gilbert, Steve, Tattoo History: A Source Book, p. 99)

Even though, these Spaniards “had never heard of tattooing” –– they “recognized it at ONCE as the work of Satan”.

And some of today’s carnal, rebellious and disobedient Christians (or so-called Christians?) gibber-gabber nonsense about “marking themselves for Jesus”. . .

TATTOOS. . . AND TODAY’S CIVILIZED SOCIETY

Somebody says, “Sure that was back in the dark ages. That was in heathen lands. Today that has all changed. Nobody connects any kind of ritualistic or pagan spiritual rituals to a tattoo.”

Yes. . . They do. . .

“These tattoos act as protective and empowering talismans for the wearer. There are even some body artists who perform ritual tattoos, piercing, brandings and cuttings. They may suggest you consult your astrological chart to pick the right time to get your body art. They will burn incense, light candles, . . .” (Jean-Chris Miller, The Body Art Book : A Complete, Illustrated Guide to Tattoos, Piercings, and Other Body Modifications, p. 29)

“Some tattooists in the West are experimenting with ritual tattooing. This method of working incorporates doing a ritual to create a sacred space in the area where the tattoo is positioned. Often incense is burned and the gods invited to bless the proceedings.” (Michelle Delio, Tattoo: The Exotic Art of Skin Decoration, p. 75)

TATTOOS: THE CUP OF DEVILS

Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. 1 Corinthians 10:21

THANK YOU TO TERRY WATKINS WHO HAS DONE SUCH AN IN-DEPTH STUDY OF THIS TOPIC

TATTOO: THE MARK OF REBELLION

The Bible, from cover to cover, and over and over, condemns rebellion. The Lord God considered rebellion so serious –– He compared rebellion to witchcraft. And may I remind you, witchcraft was punishable by death!

“For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, . . . “ 1 Samuel 15:23

“Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.” Exodus 22:18

And if there’s one message the tattoo cries out –– loud and clear –– it’s rebellion.

Throughout history tattoos have symbolized rebellion. There’s nothing normal about a tattoo. A tattoo screams of unabashed rebellion and deviancy.

Every tattoo book, and every article, I researched, both old and new, openly affirmed the deliberate rebellion symbolized by the tattoo. Book after book, article after article, sung the same song –– tattoos are open rebellion. It’s worth noting –– all the following quotes are from pro tattoo books.

“Since body art is still not mainstream, having marks on your body that you put there on purpose shows the world your rebellious and unconventional nature.” (Jean-Chris Miller, The Body Art Book : A Complete, Illustrated Guide to Tattoos, Piercings, and Other Body Modifications, p. 32)

“In this culture, a tattooed person is still looked at as a rebel, as someone who has very visibly stepped out of the bounds of normal society, . . .” (Michelle Delio, Tattoo: The Exotic Art of Skin Decoration, p. 75)

“Unquestionably tattoos are socially unacceptable.” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 179)

TATTOO: A MARK OF DISGRACE OR REPROACH

Steve Gilbert, in the very popular, pro-tattoo book, Tattoo History: A Source Book, documents that even the word “tattoo” means “. . . a mark of disgrace or reproach”. “The Latin word for “tattoo” was stigma and the original meaning is reflected in modern dictionaries. Among the definitions of “stigma” listed by Webster are a “prick with a pointed instrument,” “. . . a distinguishing mark cut into the flesh of a slave or a criminal,” and “a mark of disgrace or reproach.” (Gilbert, Steve, Tattoo History: A Source Book, p. 15)

In fact, for most of it’s slimy history the tattoo was used to mark the criminal, adulterers, traitors, deserters, the deviant and outcast. The tattoo was a dreaded mark of reproach and disgrace.

“Adultery, also, was punished in this way [tattooed] in some parts of Britain, and “bad characters” were marked BC. . . In 1717, branding was abolished in the Army and replaced with tattooing. .. with the letter “D” “Deserter” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 162)

TATTOO: THE MARK OF THE “SIDESHOW FREAK”

As late as the early 1900’s, the tattoo was so far “out of bounds” of normal, civilized society, the tattooed was mainly found freaking people out as an attraction in the circus “freak show”.

“By 1897 tattooing had reached the United States, where it immediately became a circus sideshow attraction.” (Laura Reybold, Everything you need to know about the dangers of tattooing and body piercing, p. 17)

“The popularity of tattooing during the latter part of the nineteenth century and the first half of the twentieth century owed much to the circus.” (Gilbert, Steve, Tattoo History: A Source Book, p. 135)

TATTOO: THE MARK OF INDECENCY

Tattoos are so rebellious and disgusting to most people –– they compare a tattoo to filthy pornography –– “dirty, indecent and subversive to morality”.

“In a society that considers nudity as dirty, indecent, and subversive or morality . . .it is not surprising that decorations to the body are allocated to the same category.” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 179)

Even in the barbaric and immoral ancient Greek and Rome, the tattoo was considered “barbaric” and used primarily to mark slaves and criminals. It’s interesting, they promoted slavery and other forms of depravity –– but felt tattoos were barbaric. What does that testify of today’s barbaric Christian tattooing craze? Is the next step in Christian depravity –– slavery?

“Respectable Greeks and Romans did not indulge in decorative tattooing, which they associated with barbarians. The Greeks, however, learned the technique from the Persians, and used it to mark slaves and criminals so they could be identified if they tried to escape.” (Gilbert, Steve, Tattoo History: A Source Book, p. 15)

TATTOO: THE MARK OF DEPRAVITY

Criminals, drug addicts, sex perverts and social outlaws are the overwhelming majority of the tattooed. Statistics, both old and recent, clearly reveal tattoos are largely worn by the rebellious and deviant.

“In addition to being a form of self-destruction, the tattoo seals the wearer off from the rest of normal society forever. It’s not all that surprising to note that the largest number of tattooed in Japan belong to the underworld, and in America tattoos are most prevalent either in jail or hard rock bands.” (Danny Sugerman, Appetite for Destruction: the Days of Guns N’’ Roses, p. 40)

“It was ancient Japanese tradition to tattoo convicted criminals. . . “ (Laura Reybold, Everything you need to know about the dangers of tattooing and body percing, p. 15)

“A study of young offenders on the West Coast of America concluded that delinquents tattoo themselves significantly more often than non-delinquents, and that the inclination develops at an early age without any thought for the future.” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 113)

“In the Borstal institutions [criminals] it has been estimated that the incidence of tattooing can be as high as 75 per cent.” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 113)

Comprehensive studies performed in Denmark, revealed the following enlightening statistics concerning tattoos:

42% of homes for short-term detentioned were tattooed 60% of homes for young men with behavior difficulties 72% of prisons for young men 52% of prisons population (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 114)

“The same Denmark studies also disclosed less than 4.8 in the general population were tattooed.” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 114)

Investigations by law enforcement officials also came to the conclusion that:

“the presence of ornamental body tattoos could serve to indicate the existence of personality disorders which are liable to manifest themselves in criminal behaviour”. (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 117)

“Therefore, many authorities link tattooing with aggression, i.e. anti-authoritarianism, and it cannot be disputed that gangs and delinquents, juvenile or otherwise, display massive evidence of aggression”. (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 114)

According to study after study, a tattoo so personifies and establishes a “rebellious atmosphere” that one of the most important steps in prison rehabilitation is the removal of the tattoo. According to many serious studies, a tattoo is linked so strong to criminal behavior and delinquency, that without question, the mere decoration of the tattoo inherently contributes to the criminal behavior pattern.

“This [tattoos] is one of the problems behind prison rehabilitation. Hence the reason why some plastic surgeons associated with prison service are prepared to spend an enormous amount of time removing tattoos, especially those on exposed areas. . .” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 181)

The famous architect, Adolf Loos, who also studied the connection to tattoos and crime, blatantly wrote:

“Tattooed men who are not behind bars are either latent criminals or degenerate aristocrats. If someone who is tattooed dies in freedom, then he does so a few years before he would have committed murder”. (Adolf Loos, 1962 Ornament und Verbrechen. Samtliche Schriften, edited by F. Gluck. Vienna: Herold, 1962, cited at www.into-you.co.uk/contents/misc.htm)

TATTOO: THE MARK OF PERVERSION

Studies have linked tattoos to homosexuality, lesbianism, and gross sexual perversion.

“To be fair to those who maintain that tattooing is linked to homosexuality, investigations conducted in a New Zealand Borstal for girls revealed that of the 60 per cent tattooed, 90 per cent admitted to lesbian behaviour during corrective treatment. . . Yet further analysis indicated a ratio of aggression to the number of tattoos, and that the most heavily tattooed girls were unstable and insecure and tended to take the masculine role in their sex encounters.” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 87)

“[associated with tattoos] Among these conditions Raspa cited: impulsiveness, low self esteem, lack of self control, homosexual orientation, sexual sadomasochism, bondage, fetishism, bisexuality, lesbianism, antisocial personality, borderline personality disorder, schizotypal personality disorder, mania and bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.” (Raspa, Robert F. and John Cusack 1990, Psychiatric Implications of Tattoos, American Family Physician. 41: p. 1481 cited in Gilbert, Steve, Tattoo History: A Source Book, p. 159)

TATTOO: AND PERSONALITY DISORDERS

Studies also show that “self-inflicted” tattoos are frequently associated with people with personality disorders, troubled backgrounds and self-mutilation tendencies.

“Evidence indicates that it is the mere presence of the tattoo, not its artistic content, that correlates with certain diagnoses. Thus, any tattoo can be viewed as a warning sign that should alert the practicing physician to look for underlying psychiatric conditions.” (Raspa, Robert F. and John Cusack 1990, Psychiatric Implications of Tattoos, American Family Physician. 41: p. 1483)

“. . . studies suggests that people with personality disorders frequently have multiple small tattoos. . .” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 115)

Research clearly indicates “. . . the presence of tattooing was often indicative of a deprived and troubled background,. . .” (Ronald Scutt, Art, Sex and Symbol, 1974, p. 117)

BUT WHAT ABOUT THE TATTOOS OF TODAY?

I know what some are thinking. . . Sure, in the past tattoos were linked to criminals, depravity, and immoral behavior –– but not today.

Today, the tattoo is worn by celebrities, athletes, politicians and business people. It’s adorned in high fashion mags and sports mags. There’s absolutely no data to even remotely suggest tattoos are linked to criminal or immoral behavior. No sir. Today’s tattoo is high-fashion and cool.

Oh. . . Really?

A very comprehensive study and analysis of tattoos, was recently published in April, 2001. The study was performed by Dr. Timothy Roberts, a pediatrician at the University of Rochester Children’s Hospital. The detailed analysis was taken from a study of 6072 young people, ages 11 to 21. From all over the United States. From all different ethnic groups. From all economic and social backgrounds. In other words, very thorough and reliable data models were constructed for the study. In fact, this study is probably the most comprehensive and conclusive analysis of tattoos ever conducted.

According to the study, today’s tattooed young people:

* Are nearly four times more likely to engage in sexual intercourse
* Over two times more likely to experience alcohol related problems
* Nearly two times more likely to use illegal drugs
* Over two times more likely to express violent behavior
* Over two times more likely to drop out of high school

Dr. Roberts writes, that the results of the study reveal:

“Tattooing in adolescents was significantly associated with sexual intercourse, substance use, violence and school problems in bivariate analyses and in logistic regressions adjusting for sociodemographic factors and peer substance use.” (Timothy A. Roberts, M.D. and Sheryl A. Ryan, M.D., Tattooing and High-Risk Behavior in Adolescents, Division of Adolescent Medicine, Strong Children’s Research Center, University of Rochester School of Medicine, Rochester, NY)

Dr. Roberts, writes in the “conclusion” of the study that tattoos “have strong associations with high-risk behaviors in adolescents”

“Conclusion: Permanent tattoos have strong associations with high-risk behaviors in adolescents. The presence of a tattoo during examination of an adolescent should prompt in-depth assessment for high-risk behaviors.” (Timothy A. Roberts, M.D. and Sheryl A. Ryan, M.D., Tattooing and High-Risk Behavior in Adolescents, Division of Adolescent Medicine, Strong Children’s Research Center, University of Rochester School of Medicine, Rochester, NY)

It is worth mentioning, Dr. Roberts, himself has a tattoo. And before the study, Dr. Roberts admittedly believed that people with tattoos were unfairly stereotyped. One of his purposes of the study was to prove that point. After the overwhelming results, Dr Roberts, admitted, “I was more than a little surprised at the result.”

After evaluating the data, Dr. Roberts says, “A tattoo is a sign that doctors, parents, teachers ought to be asking about the teenager’s behaviour.”

BUT WASN’T JESUS A REBEL?

I hear this “rebel-party-line” from Christians: “Hey dude, yea man, I’m a rebel just like Jesus. Yea, man, He was the real rebel. He rebelled against the system, man. Yea, man, He’s the ultimate rebel. Man, like, that’s why I wear my tattoos –– I’m rebelling against the system.”

Heavily tattooed, Sonny of the “Rastafarianism-Christianity-AND-God-Knows-What-Else” punk-rap-metal rock band P.O.D. claims Jesus Christ was the first rebel —— and the “first punk rocker”!

“We believe that Jesus was the first rebel. He was the first punk rocker going against all the rest of it” -Sonny, P.O.D. (http://www.shoutweb.com/interviews/pod0700.phtml)

Let’s get something straight! The Lord Jesus Christ was NOT A REBEL! The Bible is very clear. The Lord Jesus Christ was OBEDIENT unto death –– even the death of the cross!

“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” -Phil. 2:8

Even in the Garden of Gethsemane, knowing that every wicked, abominable sin committed in history was going to be placed upon Him (2 Cor. 5:17), knowing that He was going to drink the cup of wrath of God, and in great agony, His sinless sweat was dropping as it were great drops of blood —— even then, Thank God, Thank God —— HE DID NOT REBEL! As He prayed “. . .not my will, but thine, be done.”

42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not mywill, but thine, be done.
43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.
44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22:42-44

Yes. The Lord Jesus Christ was “against” the world and the system –– but it was because the world was the REBEL –– not the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank God –– He was OBEDIENT to the will of God. The world, the flesh and the devil REBELLED and is REBELLING against the Word of God. Just like anyone that disgraces themselves with a “God-forbidden” tattoo.

Oh my friend, aren’t you glad that Jesus Christ was NOT a rebel. That He was OBEDIENT unto His Father’s will. Aren’t you glad that Sonny of P.O.D. is so wrong. If Jesus Christ REBELLED, one second, one thought, one sin, there would be no hope. Aren’t you glad Jesus Christ loved you so much that He died for you on Calvary?

Have you ever received the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour?

A THANK YOU TO TERRY WATKINS WHO HAS DONE SUCH A CREDIBLE IN-DEPTH STUDY OF THIS TOPIC… http://www.av1611.org/tattoos/pagan.html

PRAYER AGAINST THE WITCHES INCANTATIONS

In the Name of my Lord, Savior, and Deliverer, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we come against and bind the Strongman, Prince, Prince-Ruling Spirit, and all Spirit Guides associated with (specific name or coven). We right now bind all psychic heredity that was enheritted through the blood line of these (this) witch(es) and ask you, Lord Jesus, to seal the third eye through which they see into the occult realm. We also ask, Father, that you would restrain them from astral projection and that their cursing come back upon their own heads as your Word declares. We also ask that you send your angels to make sure that their curses are returned to them, and that these returning curses are not blocked by their magic or sorcery. We come through the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Name of Jesus Christ as we bind, blind, gag, deafen, paralyze and silence you, demons, and forbid you from influencing or strengthening any witch, warlock, spiritualist, satanist, (or specific name) right now in the Name of Jesus Christ.

We bind the spirits of Hate, Bitterness, Murder, Wizardry, Sorcery, Witchcraft, Magic, Occult, Control, Lust for Power, Lust for Position, Rejection and Pride (etc.) in order to destroy the demonic work, power, influence, plans, or appointments of these demons in the Name of Jesus Christ. We place you on notice, demons, that you will not be able to use these (this) soul(s) any longer against any church, group, family, individual, or themselves, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We take authority over and come against the spirits of Blindness, Spiritual Blindness, Darkness, Occult Darkness, Wicked Heart of Unbelief, Pride, and Deception; binding the spirits of Bondage, Heaviness, Fear, and Hate in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We ask You, Heavenly Father, in the Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, to send Warrior Angels to blind, gag, deafen, and paralyze these spirits, forbidding them from influencing or interfering with these souls so that they can have control over their own free wills and be able to make up their own minds should they choose to repent. We pray that they would be able to do this without any demonic or satanic interference.

Lord Jesus, we pray that you would release Warrior Angels to wage war against these demons and their activities. We also pray that you would send ministering angels of Salvation, Adoption as Children of God, Conviction, Repentance, Humility, Contrite, Brokenness, Knowledge, Revelation, Understanding, Grace, Mercy, Truth, Forgiveness, and any others necessary to minister to their souls.

Lord, open their eyes so that they can see the Glory of Jesus. Open their hearts so that they can hear Your voice. Break the yokes in their lives and give them liberty in their souls so that they may be free to repent. Show them every evil work and deed that they’re guilty of, and Lord Jesus, convict their hearts unto repentance. Bring these souls out of darkness, save these souls so that You may have the Glory.

Heavenly Father, we humbly ask all these things in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen, Amen, and Amen!

PUPPETS – ARE THEY A SNARE TO BELIEVERS INTO IDOLATRY?

What do you know about puppets? Where did the idea come from? What is their origin? Are puppets good or could they in a sense be bad? What about all the things our eyes see? When I first heard of puppets and saw them being used in the school, on TV and in the churches, a thought kept coming to me to investigate, so I did. I would like to share with you a portion of what I discovered in the dictionaries, encyclopedias and the Bible and what it says about them. The truth on puppets and any other subject is no secret in the dictionaries, and for many Christians involved with them, the Holy Bible.

So much of the time we take for granted that if the school, TV or the church uses anything it has to be alright, (and that is the way it should be) but we accept things without asking any questions, and without doing any research to see if it really is alright, and if the results will be what we want. Don’t take my word for it. I challenge you to do some research of your own and discover more truth also.

Puppets – Puppetry- dictionary says it’s a marionette, mummery. Mummery goes back to pagan Egypt of long ago.

Mummery – a performance by mummers. A pretentious or hypocritical ritual, a dumb show.

Marionette – a small jointed figure used in shows.

Caricatures – these are pictures or descriptions in which the features are distorted or exaggerated to produce an absurd effect, a badly distorted likeness; to present as ridiculous, mimics the behavior in a comical way.

Cartoon – is satirically commenting or drawing. Satire is sarcasm, irony and raillery, banter.

Synonyms of caricatures are travesty and parody.

Travesty – in literature a burlesque treatment of a lofty subject. Isn’t this a disgrace and a shame to choose such a degrading way to present truths and worthy subjects in literature and the Bible to our children, grandchildren and adults? Parody – a humorous imitation of a piece of serious literary work, also of music. Is there anything more serious than school work, and the responsibility of the church where the Holy Bible is taught and is preached? Nothing is more beautiful than music and loved by all people, yet in not being discreet it is often made a sham.

When I began this research, I wrote letters to all over the U.S. and even Canada asking questions and I found none with the information of which I discovered. I shared with some who expressed fear at telling anyone what the involvement really meant. America, these United States were founded upon Godly principles taken from the Bible, and those founders were not ashamed to say so. Many of those principles are still in effect in our laws today, but most people would rather talk about any other subject than, “what does the LORD Jesus say.”

When we read of the social chaos everywhere, stealing, killing, and so many people not telling the truth and we wonder why, but just maybe a lot of us good intentioned people sanctioned some things that really were a device and a snare set by the devil who is the author of deceit. Where is the Jesus of Hebrews 13:8 “the same yesterday, today and forever.”

You know sometimes we just go along thinking that what God says in His Word doesn’t apply to me. We also have the thoughts that only certain parts of the Bible apply to us and we choose what we want to apply and what we don’t want to accept we glibly say that was just for that time, that’s not for now, I’m living under grace. That is the truth and just how much grace we need to realize and be thankful.

I wonder what people are going to do with some of the following scriptures I give them for consideration because most people consider themselves a Christian. No matter what vocation you may be in, the first Christians earned that title by being, “like Christ,” and believe you me, that is saying a lot. Take for instance, do you believe the Bible? Do you believe it to be God’s word inspired by the Holy Spirit, written for our benefit?

Do you believe all the Bible, every word from Genesis to the Revelation? Believe it enough to obey it? Do you believe the God of the Bible? Do you believe God means what He says and says what He means? If you do, you are not the run of the mill church member. Do you believe in Webster’s dictionary for the Definition of words? Do you believe the commandments God gave in the Bible are valid commandments for people to live by in 1981?

Do you know and believe that deception is not of God? Not even the smallest amount of deceit or lie is from the Holy Spirit of Truth. When did you read or where does the Bible say God pretended?

Can a puppet talk, see, or hear? The answer is NO, yet so many do not see this is deception. Are the just to live by faith? (Romans 1:17) Do the people that use puppets not have a faith and trust in the puppets? Romans 14:23 says “whatsoever is not of faith is sin.“ Why use them if they have no faith in them? Where do thoughts and ideas come from if they are contrary to the word of God?

People say that puppets are not idols, but what does the word of God say? Read Exodus 20:1-6 with a definite checking on puppets, magic, gimmicks used to attract our children, grandchildren and adults. Are not some of these in our laws today: No stealing, no killing, do not bear false witness? What about verse 4, “do not make any image or any likeness.” The thing has to first be made before you can use it in worship or to teach with, or do most people say God didn’t mean that?

I find in reading Psalms 115:1-11 and Psalms 135:15-18 and Jeremiah 101:6, a contrast between God and His ways and the ways of the heathen and the work of men’s hands. Puppets and some other attractions come in this category. We need to watch and check men’s ideas and inventions. Not all of them are acceptable to God for His people. Read Psalms 106:29,39, Acts 17:22-25, Ecclesiastes 7:29. Deuteronomy 4:15-20, says it causes corruption.

Did you know Proverbs 6:12-14 says a naughty person teaches with his fingers? The evil spirit behind such sows discord, so the Word says. Do you know what the Hebrew meaning of the word discord is? Strong’s Bible dictionary says it means a contest! If discord is contest, no wonder we have so much discord in all walks of life.

Everyone is seeking to outdo someone else, giving prizes and rewards if you do excel. There have been times I have read the church news and listened to the advertising for the coming week of ballgames, auctions, puppet shows, selling this and selling that, and promoting fleshly things. The Apostle Paul said to “not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.” It makes one wonder if you are going to the right place – “Church.” Check the name over the entrance. A person really thought church was a place to worship JESUS as it says in Acts 4:10-12 “no salvation in any other name but Jesus.“ Jude says, “going the error of Balaam for reward.” Paul said in I Corinthians 10:11 both old and new testaments were written for admonition upon whom the ends of the world are come. Are we nearing the end of an age?

Habakkuk 2:18-20 says wood and stone can’t teach, that the Lord is in His Holy Temple. I Corinthians 6:18 says our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Isn’t yours His temple? Romans 6:6-18 says do not yield your members to be servants of sin; verse 16 says to whomever you yield, his you become. We should be careful to whom we are yielding ourselves.

Well, you might like to know just why should such an article as this come out in the newspaper? I knew of no other way to let so many people know the truth. I knew many would call me a fanatic and someone who just wants to find fault and criticize, but that is not my purpose. My intention is to obey Romans 1:18, “the wrath of God is against those who hold the truth in unrighteousness.”

There are many pastors of churches who know what the Bible says and what God expects of them as shepherds of the flock, but they are afraid to preach it because they would lose their job as pastor of that particular church. If the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is not far off, what will our answer to Him be as to why we didn’t share the whole counsel of God, leaving nothing out? After all, God wrote the Bible and put in it truth for us to believe and obey, and He says He is responsible that His word not return void. It is really a disgrace as to what “we believers” don’t believe that is written in the Bible.

Romans 1:23 says some made images of birds, four-footed beasts, and creeping things and God was displeased. Reading farther you will find what God gave them over to and none are desirable, at least for Christians. Romans 8:6-8 says carnal mind and flesh are enmity against God. Light has no communion with darkness. Our eyes are the light of the body, set no wicked thing before our eyes, Rom 12:1-2, Matt 6:22-24, II Corinthians 6:14-18. Psalms 101:3 says if your eyes see it, it can cleave to you. That could mean good or bad. It is a dangerous thing to use deception. Jeremiah 48:10 says it brings a curse. Deuteronomy chapters 27 and 28 talks about curses being sickness.

Yes, I know that Jesus bore the curse for us, but it is not automatic, just like being born again. Jesus paid the price, but I must experience it for it to be real for me. Doing the things God said not to do could bring some things besides blessings, like “honor thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God commanded thee, that thy days may be prolonged and that it may go well with thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.” Turn that around and disobey it and your days could be shortened and things might not go well with thee. (Deut 5:16)

“Peculiar” people Paul says God’s people are to be, but the trend now is to be like the world as much as possible. It seems we have forgotten John 17:14 and 1 John 2:15-16 to “be in the world but not of the world” and to “love not the world.” Colossians 3:1-3 suggest strongly we are to be seeking those things above, not things on the earth.

Who is going to bring the message to the world if there is so much of the world in the Christians and the church? Can the world see anything in us to show the difference? Surely people don’t go to church to be entertained, and surely not with the same things they can get by going to a movie, a circus or staying home watching TV cartoons.

Unless you and I are deceived more than we like or want to admit, we should be going to church for a different reason. Just ask yourself, “how much is church like the Bible?” If we were like the Bible we might be in jail, as was Paul and Peter, and the things that were said about them would be said about us, “much learning doth make thee mad, and I’ll listen some more convenient day.”

In John 12:32 Jesus said “if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me.” Ephesians 1:21 says Jesus’ name is above dominions, power, principalities and every name that is named in this world or in that which is to come. What name are you exalting or lifting up? There is none but Jesus, that Jesus and His Blood might have the preeminence. (Colossians 1:18) Do you want to be conformed to the image of the Son? Better begin to take an inventory. That’s how I received new birth was when I discovered what I thought I had didn’t measure up to what the Bible required.

So much joking, foolish talking and story telling, yet in Ephesians 5:4 it says “let it not once be named among you as becometh saints.“ What is inside of Christians and any law abiding people with the intentions to do good that they would let themselves get involved with puppets, attractions of the world, flesh, magic, and gimmicks when we have such good sources to teach us differently? Could we have a strange god in us? Psalms 81:8-10 gives the possibility. Deliverance from demons. Yes, the Bible says so about believers, and they are to do it. Have you seen it done? Have you experienced it? Yes, I’m a fanatic for Jesus because I read where the lukewarm get spewed out of His mouth.

With the rise in occult groups comes a general increase in experimentation with satanic things. Toys R Us is now selling a collection of voodoo dolls. Their web site markets four to choose from: Uchawi, Baka, Kennis and Ezili. They are described as: “…horrifying yet irresistible plush voodoo dolls complete with everything you will need to practice voodoo, create spells, summon spirits.” Each comes with an accessory bag containing trinkets, binding twine, chicken feet and mojo bones, a spell book and pins.

The Voodooz brand joins other occult items that Toys R Us has carried for a long time: ouija boards, D&D and violent video games laced with devil themes. The Voodooz dolls are produced by Mezco Toys who specialize in the macabre. A visit to their web site finds Hellboy comics (also sold by Toys R Us) and Living Dead and Edward Scissorhands dolls.

Satan is making a major play for our children in his “culture war” against all things decent and biblical. We must arm our young people with a thorough knowledge of biblical truth so they will recognize and resist Satan’s wiles. Parents who fed their growing youngsters the strong biblical message in Chick literature tell us that it helped them became stalwart believers when they grew up. Most of the tracts are written in simple terms that the early child can understand. These are supported later by full-sized books such as How to be a Successful Teenager and Stairway to Hell, by Rick Jones.

We must inoculate our youngsters against Satan’s barrage. Parents will find that Chick Publications literature is a real help for their own kids as well as those in the neighborhood.

IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, my Lord and Savior, I bind all principalities, powers in the air, wickedness in high places, thrones, dominions, world rulers and strongmen over and within (__________) (person prayed for).

I BIND any and all witchcraft control, mind blinding spirits, spirits that block and/or bind the will, mind and emotions, mind control, destruction, lust, rebellion, rejection, paranoia, schizophrenia, anger, hatred, resentment, bitterness, unforgiveness, unteachableness, deception, Ahab and Jezebel, doubt and unbelief, fears, drugs, rock music, hypnosis and hypnotic trance and alcohol. I bind kings, princes, and world rulers for each evil spirit here named. I strip each spirit and each hierarchy of power, armor and rank, and separate each of them from one another.

I BIND all evil, touching the senses, sight, smell, taste and hearing, and the emotions; all evil against the 7 points of the body used by witchcraft (heel of the spine, spleen, navel, heart, throat, between the eyes, and top of the head). I bind all evil on bodily systems (reproductive, skeletal, muscular, digestive, excretory, endocrine, respiratory, nervous and circulatory).

I BIND any and all evil powers giving aid or pulling these things in our body toward evil by means of energy drawn from the sun, moon, starts, planets, constellations, earth, air, wind, fire, water, light, darkness, matter, elements or from lines and/or circles used against us.

I BIND any and all transference of spirits in family, friends or associates (name those for whom you are binding and from whom you have forbid demonic transference). I break, sever, clip and sear with the Blood of Jesus all evil soul ties among these persons, and I place the Blood of Jesus over their minds, wills and emotions.

EACH AND EVERY EVIL SPIRIT named in this prayer is to be bound (Matthew 16:19, 18:18) for each person prayed for as well as for the person uttering this prayer. Spirits from the nether world, spirits over, between and around those praying and those prayed for, are to be completely bound in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

IN JESUS’ NAME, I loose the spirits of God (Isaiah 11:2) and any other godly spirits necessary upon the persons praying this prayer and the persons prayed for. I place a shield over their minds to protect against end-time mind control.

The following men are some of the key popple that satan has used in his strategy to destroy the multitudes through rock and roll.

Aleister Crowley – GUILTY
Alexander Edward “Aleister” Crowley was born in England on October 12, 1875. Yet, still today he has a tremendous effect on rock and roll music. Aleister Crowley is referred to as the founding father of modern satanism. He was known to practice ritual child sacrifice regularly” in support of his role as devil’s high priest.

Below is a quote of Crowley’s
“That religion they call Christianity; the devil they honor they call God…it is their God and their religion that I HATE and will Destroy.”

…Crowley is connected to the Black Crowes, Marilyn Manson, Mudvayne, David Bowie, 311, Darryl Hall, Sting, Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin, the Doors, the Rolling Stones, and the Beatles.

Kenneth Anger – GUILTY

The second subject I want to present into evidence is a follower of Aleister Crowley named Kenneth Anger. Like Aleister Crowley, Anger is a satanic priest or “Magus.” Anger was only 17 when Crowley died in 1947, but he was already making films that “which even by today’s standards, reek of pure evil.”

Anger was in London working on a film called Lucifer Rising. It was dedicated to Aleister Crowley. The film fielded a team of very key people. It included players from the Process Church, the Rolling Stones and the Charles Manson family cult. Any guesses as to who composed the music for the film? It was Mick Jagger. Oh, the cast gets better. The part of Lucifer was played by Bobby Beausoleil. Beausoleil was a member of Charles Manson’s gang and reportedly Anger’s homosexual lover.

A few months into the film, Beausoleil returned to California to carry out the first of the Manson family murders. He was later arrested, and is now serving time with his leader, Charles Manson. With his lover gone, Anger chose Anton LaVey, the author of The Satanic Bible and the head of the First Church of Satan, to play Lucifer. The filmed was released in 1969 with a different title. It was called ‘Invocation to My Demon Brother.’

In 1967, while under the influence of Anger and the Process Church, the Rolling Stones released their first album giving praise to their god, titled Their Satanic Majesties Request. The album cover pictures a tarot card designed by Crowley.

Timothy Leary – GUILTY

The next subject of discussion is Timothy Leary. Timothy Leary was a Harvard psychologist and professor. He preached that spiritual “enlightenment” could be obtained through the use of the drug LSD.

Leary had a powerful effect on people of his generation. He stated himself, “My crime is the ancient and familiar one of corrupting the minds of youth. This charge is a valid one.” Leary was charismatic and a gifted speaker, and he used these talents to attract many followers. He even described himself as a “forty-year-old, smart-aleck, atheist Harvard professor.” Eventually, his outlandish behavior caught up with him and he was fired by Harvard. Before this time, he had been handing out LSD to his Harvard student volunteers.

Any guesses whom Leary was a follower of? Leary was also a very serious follower of Aleister Crowley. On PBS’s Late Night America, Leary admitted to being an “admirer” of Crowley, and Leary believed he was carrying on Crowley’s work: “Well I’ve been an admirer of Aleister Crowley. I think that I’m carrying on much of the work that he started over a hundred years ago… He was in favor of finding yourself, and ‘Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law’ under love. It was a very powerful statement. I’m sorry he isn’t around now to appreciate the glories he started.”

Leary expressed that “do whatever you want attitude.” And he made plans to spread his “knowledge across the world. Leary set out to do this using the tool of rock and roll. He influenced John Lennon, Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead and Jimi Hendrix, to name a few. He stated “…I rejoice to see our culture being taken over by joyful young messiahs who dispel our fears and charm us back into the pagan dance of harmony.”

…Leary actually talked about God becoming incarnate in a particular band. He said, “He has come back as “…the four sided mandala — The Beatles. The means by which to spread the new gospel — music. The sacrament — drugs.” John Lennon used Leary’s translation of The Tibetan Book of the Dead for the lyrics in the 1966 release “Tomorrow Never Knows.”

One year later came the album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. All Music Guide claimed the Beatles’ album Sgt. Pepper “will forever be known as the recording that changed rock and roll.” Time magazine said, Sgt. Pepper was “drenched in drugs.” The cover of the Beatle’s Sgt. Pepper album shows the band with a backdrop of several people. Ringo Starr was quoted in Hit Parader magazine in October 1976 as saying, they are people “we like and admire.” Paul McCartney was also quoted in describing the cover as “…we were going to have photos on the wall of all our HEROS…”

There are many infamous people in the picture including four Hindu priests and a man named Aldous Huxley. Second from the left, on the top row, is Aleister Crowley. Many people at that time did not even know who Aleister Crowley was, but the Beatles did. Chances are, you did not know who he was. He was a BABY MURDERER, and the Beatles considered him a hero. The Beatles were devout followers of Crowley. Beatle Lennon says in an interview, the “whole idea of the Beatles” was Crowley’s infamous “do what thou wilt.” “The whole Beatle idea was to do what you want, right? To take your own responsibility, do what you want and try not to harm other people, right? DO WHAT THOU WILST, as long as it doesn’t hurt somebody…”

Aldous Huxley – GUILTY

Enter subject four. Aldous Huxley. Aldous Huxley (1894-1963) was a well-known British writer. His books are currently used in the California public school system. What Huxley might not be as well-known for is his experimentation with psychotropic drugs. He supported their use as a “tool of enlightenment.”

One of his writings is called “The Doors of Perception and Heaven and Hell.” It is considered by some to be a classic of psychedelic literature. Approximately ten years after its release, The Doors became the name of a band.

The Doors’ Keyboardist Ray Manzarek had the following quote about his band: “At the time, we had been ingesting a lot of psychedelic chemicals, so the doors of perception were cleansed in our minds, and we saw the music as a vehicle to, in a sense, become proselytizers of a new religion, a religion of self, of each man as God. That was the original idea behind The Doors…”

Jim Morrison, former lead singer for the rock group the Doors, died mysteriously on July 3, 1971. Morrison was involved in the occult. He and his wife were married at a Wicca ceremony. During the ceremony, the two stood in a pentagram and drank each other’s blood.

Morrison once gave reference to the fact that satan was responsible for his thoughts and possibly his music. He stated, “I met the Spirit of Music…An appearance of the devil in a Venice canal. Running, I saw a Satan, or Satyr, moving beside me, a fleshy shadow of my secret mind…”

On the back cover of The Doors’ album entitled 13 is a picture of the group gathered around a bust of one Aleister Crowley.

Huxley ingested psilocybin mushrooms with a man named Timothy Leary. Leary recalls one of the times in the following statement: “Huxley’s eyes were closed. Suddenly he clapped his hands. ‘Your role is quite simple. Become a cheerleader for evolution. That’s what I did and my grandfather before me. These braindrugs will bring about vast changes in society. We (must)…spread the word. The obstacle to this evolution, Timothy, is the Bible.’ ”

Anton Lavey – GUILTY

The fourth and final person in this group that we are going to talk about is the former leader of the Church of Satan and the writer of The Satanic Bible, Anton LaVey, who is now also deceased.

“Anton Szandor Lavey (1930-1997), like Charles Manson, Timothy Leary, and other messianic pop gurus, was a notorious figure of the 1960s subculture of the social experiment.” He served as the high priest for the Church of Satan and is the professed author of The Satanic Bible. One-third of The Satanic Bible was taken directly from one of Aleister Crowley’s writings called The Equinox. Proper attribution was not given to Crowley by LaVey.

No one described the essence of the free love `60s better then LaVey and the Church of Satan. LaVey admitted that Satanism is simply a worshiping of one’s self when he stated: “This is a very selfish religion. We believe in greed, we believe in selfishness, we believe in all the lustful thoughts that motivate man, because this is man’s natural, uh, feeling.”

The following are a few verses from the Book of Satan and The Satanic Bible: “Free love, in the Satanic concept, means exactly that — freedom to either be faithful to one person or to indulge your sexual desires with as many others as you feel is necessary to satisfy particular needs.” The Satanic Bible, p.66.

“Therefore, the most simplified description of the Satanic belief is: Indulgence instead of abstinence.” The Satanic Bible, p.81.

In a later printing of The Satanic Bible, LaVey’s biographer, Burton H. Wolfe, wrote in the introduction: “Repressed people have burst their bonds. Sex has exploded. The collective libido has been released, in movies and literature, on the streets and in the home. People are dancing topless and bottomless…There is a ceaseless universal quest for entertainment; gourmet foods and wines, enjoyment of the here and now…There is a mood of neopaganism and hedonism, and from it there have emerged a wide variety of brilliant individuals, doctors, lawyers, teachers, engineers, teachers, writers, stockbrokers, realestate developers, actors and actresses, mass communication media people (to cite a few categories of Satanists) who are interested in formalizing and perpetuating this all-pervading religion (Satanism) and way of life.”

Consider this word for word (uh’s included) quote from occult writer Robert Anton Wilson before Aleister Crowley’s death. He “sparked a worldwide revival of paganism.” “Well, in 1918, Crowley, uh, took the great magical oath, which was a serious thing to, uh, Crowley, uh, and he took an oath that he would surrender all of his magical powers that he had achieved until that date, to concentrate his energies, single-pointedly on the one task of, uh, destroying Christianity and, uh, reviving, uh, paganism. And I think, if you look around the world, it’s pretty obvious that Crowley has been, uh, a remarkable success. Paganism had made a big comeback, in an organized way. Neopagan groups, in an unorganized way, our whole society has become more pagan.”

The Goddess and the Liberal Church

The message of the goddess has gained a hearing in the church as well. The philosophy of the goddess is currently being taught in the classrooms of some of our seminaries. In a growing number of seminaries the student population is becoming increasingly female, and many of these women have a feminist outlook on life. Mary Daly, who considers herself to be a Christian feminist, says this about traditional Christianity: “To put it bluntly, I propose that Christianity itself should be castrated.” The primary focus of the “Christian” feminist is to bring an end to what they perceive as male-dominated religion by “castrating” the male influence from religion. Daly continued by saying,

“I am suggesting that the idea of salvation uniquely by a male savior perpetuates the problem of patriarchal oppression.”(Alice Hageman, Theology After the Demise of God the Father: A Call for the Castration of Sexist Religion, New York: Association Press, 1974, 132.)

Reverend Susan Cady, co-author of Sophia: The Future of Feminist Spirituality and pastor of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Philadelphia, is one example of the direction that Daly and others are taking the church. The authors of Sophia state that, “Sophia is a female, goddess-like figure appearing clearly in the Scriptures of the Hebrew tradition.”

Wisdom Feast, the authors’ latest book, clearly identifies Jesus with Sophia. Sophialogy presents Sophia as a separate goddess and Jesus as her prophet. The book takes liberty with Jesus by replacing the masculine deity with the feminine deity Sophia. Another example of how goddess “thealogy” (note feminist spelling for theology) is making its way into the liberal church is through seminars held on seminary campuses.

One such seminar was held at the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. “Wisdomweaving: Woman Embodied in Faiths” was held at the school in February of 1990. If one looks at the schedule of the seminar, it is obvious that the emphasis was not on orthodoxy. Linda Finnell, a follower of Wicca and one of the speakers, spoke on the subject of “Returning to the Goddess Through Dianic Witchcraft.” Two of the keynote speakers were of a New Age persuasion. In fact, one, Sr. Jose Hobday, works with Matthew Fox and Starhawk at the Institute for Creation Spirituality.

Many public schools have become pagan religion indoctrination centers. These schools now teach children anti-Judeo-Christian beliefs and pagan religions, and try to mold children’s minds through the latest techniques in behavioral psychology.

Here are two examples of how schools now use spirit religions as brainwashing techniques in classrooms across America, from Berit Kjos’s book, “Brave New Schools:” “Come to the medicine wheel!” the teacher’s cheery voice beckoned the Iowa fourth graders to a fun Native American ritual. “And wear your medicine bags.”

Jonathan grabbed his little brown pouch and hurried to his place. His favorite teacher made school so exciting! She brought Indian beliefs about nature into all the subjects: science, history, art, reading. She even helped the class start The Medicine Wheel Publishing Company to make writing more fun.

She taught Jonathan to make his own medicine bag, a deer-skin pouch filled with special things, such as a red stone that symbolized his place on the medicine wheel astrology chart. This magic pouch would empower him in times of need, such as when taking tests. Jonathan wanted to show it to his parents, but his teacher said no. He didn’t know why.

Sitting cross-legged in the circle, the class sang a song to honor the earth: “The Earth is our Mother. We’re taking care of her. . . . Hey younga, ho.” Then the teacher read an Indian myth from the popular classroom book, Keepers of the Earth. It told about a beautiful spirit woman who came to save a starving tribe of Sioux Indians. This mystical savior brought sage to purify the people, and she showed them how to use the sacred pipe, a symbol of “the unity of all things” for guidance and prayer to the Great Spirit.

When Rachel Holm, a Minnesota mother, visited Mounds Park All-Nations School, she found magic dream-catchers in every classroom, mystical drawings of a spiritualized earth, and a ring of stones in the schoolyard for medicine wheel ceremonies. She heard politically correct assumptions about the evils of Western culture and the goodness of pagan spirituality. How can public schools promote Native American rituals but censure Christianity? she wondered.”

What’s wrong with these seemingly innocuous classes, aside from the issue of separation of religion and schools? The kids were having fun as they learned, so what could be wrong? Plenty. By teaching religious mysticism, public schools throughout the country are filling impressionable young minds with group think, multiculturalism, paganism, Earth worship, astrology, polytheism (belief in many gods), and pantheism (belief in spirit gods that exist in trees, rocks, and water). The God of Moses is out in our public schools, and Earth worship is in.

Many teachers in public schools across the country now stress feelings and mystical experiences, not facts and reason, much less critical reading and thinking. Their behavior modification techniques indoctrinate children with emotion-driven group think and anti-Western, anti-Judeo-Christian values.

In classrooms throughout the country, Judeo-Christian beliefs are cast aside or ridiculed. Multicultural studies, environmental propaganda, and arts-education classes now indoctrinate children with New Age religious beliefs, often without parents’ knowledge. Public schools sometimes try to sneak offensive spirit or new age religions into their curriculum without parents’ knowledge.

In January, 2003, a group of parents sued a Sacramento Unified School District because certain teachers at their local elementary school were aggressively, and secretly, teaching anthroposophy, a religion that combines traditional Western religion with astrology and New Age religion. Pacific Justice Institute lawyers representing the parents indicated that many other public schools in California are now adding New Age and Eastern religions, including Islam, to their curricula.

What follows is only a small sample of the flood of “spiritual” sessions taking place in classrooms throughout the country (from Berit Kjos’s brilliant book, “Brave New Schools”) :

1. “Altered states of consciousness: Teaching students to alter their consciousness through centering exercises, guided imagery, and visualizations has become standard practice in self-esteem, multicultural, and arts programs. They often encourage contact with spirit guides.”

2. “Dreams and visions: After studying a pagan myth, students are often asked to imagine or visualize a dream or vision, then describe it in a journal or lesson assignment”

3. “Astrology: Countless teachers across the country require students to document their daily horoscopes. Others help students discover their powers and personalities through Aztec calendars and Chinese.”

4. “Other forms of divination: Through palmistry, I Ching, tarot cards and horoscopes, students learn to experience other cultures and tap into secret sources of wisdom. Students in Texas were told to create a vision in their minds and “describe in your best soothsayer tones the details of your vision.”

5. “Spiritism: While pagan myths and crafts show students how to contact ancestral, nature, and other spirits, classroom rituals actually invoke their presence. California third-graders had to alter their consciousness through guided imagery, invoke or “see” their personal animal spirits, write about their experience . . . and create their own magical medicine shields to represent their spirit helper.”

6. “Magic, spells, and sorcery: Many parents consider magic and spell-casting too bizarre and alien to pose a threat, yet gullible students from coast to coast are learning the ancient formulas and occult techniques.”

7. “Occult charms and symbols: Dreamcatchers, Zuni fetishes, crystals, and power signs like the quartered circle and Hindu mandala are only a few of the empowering charms and symbols fascinating students today.”

8. “Solstice rites: After seating themselves “according to their astrological signs,” Oregon students who traded Christmas for a Winter Solstice celebration watched the “sun god” and “moon goddess” enter the auditorium to the beating of drums and chanting. “Animal spirits” . . . . followed.”

9. “Human sacrifice: Students are given lessons on death education with assignments like the “Fallout Shelter.” Other lessons advocate the cultural endorsement of abortion and euthanasia as a way to prepare the new generation to accept many new forms of human sacrifice, such as the notion of sacrificing oneself for the “common good.”

10. “Sacred sex: Students get lessons about pagan societies’ appreciation for the “unifying power of promiscuity.” By studying these pagan notions on sexuality, children get the idea that promiscuity is normal and acceptable.”

11. “Serpent worship: Many ancient or primitive cultures throughout history have worshipped snakes, which have symbolized occult power, wisdom, and rebirth. Public school multicultural history classes that celebrate these primitive societies can idealize cultures that worshipped serpents.”

Dreams, visions, magic, spells, sorcery, astrology, spirit worship, divination, solstice rites, human sacrifice, sacred sex, and altered states of consciousness? Is this what our children should be learning? Should schools turn children into Earth-and spirit-worshipers? Should parents pay property taxes for public schools that promote pagan religions that can affect their children’s ability to tell facts from spirit dreams?

Teaching pagan beliefs and religions can harm children. Author Aldus Huxley wrote about ‘new-think’ indoctrination in Brave New World, his frightening novel about a future totalitarian society. In his book, school authorities molded children’s minds so that as adults, they lost their ability to think critically or judge the policies of their leaders.

Indoctrinating children with pagan beliefs in our public schools could have a similar effect. If a child believes he or she can turn into a bird or pass a math test by rubbing a voodoo necklace, then facts, reason, hard work, and dedication go out the window.

Pagan mysticism can warp a child’s ability to think critically and to grasp and deal with reality. Are state-controlled public schools deliberately trying to cripple children’s ability to reason and deal with facts? School authorities would say that they are simply trying to get children to appreciate other cultures and religions. What they are really doing is to indoctrinate children with the notion that all cultures and religions are “equal” and “harmless,” when they are not.

Parents, I can think of no better way to corrupt your children’s mind’s than by keeping them in government-controlled, public-school indoctrination centers. When was the last time you visited your children’s classrooms and heard what they are really teaching your children?
